A Nice Green Bush Would Look Great Here
Jan 29 2003 -- 02:19 PM
![]() Anyway, what honked me off the most about this speech was the environmental crap. I expected him to talk about war, and was actually glad that he at least made an effort to explain why he things we should blow the shit out of Iraq. It made me sick, though, to watch this guy stand up there and with a straight face tell the world that he wants to be a leader in saving the environment. What a crock. This guy has single-handedly detroyed more environmental legislation than anyone else, ever. (Okay, I have no idea if that's true. But I know he's repealed a lot of laws.) His big idea is to let corporations police themselves. The environment won't be saved by a bunch of length lawsuits, we should just leave it up to the companies to take care of it. I'm sure they probably will. It seems to me that he can easily say these things, that he's proposing all kinds of environmental measures, in front of a world audience and look good, knowing full well that the Republican Congress will never pass any of it. Then he can say, "Well, I asked 'em." Sheesh. Okay, got a little too angry there. This is supposed to be a fun site and look what happened. And on launch day no less. |
